Sky TV

Sky EPGSky operates the most comprehensive multi-channel television service in the UK and Ireland. Over 9.536 million households enjoy an unprecedented choice of movies, news, entertainment and sports channels and interactive services on Sky digital.

Customers can choose from six basic subscription packs – News & Events, Music, Style & Culture, Kids and Knowledge – as well as premium sports and movies options. Our Sky TV packages start from £17.50 a month, offering access to over 500 television and radio channels.

In addition to their choice of Sky TV channels, all customers can receive more than 330 free-to-air television and radio channels and services. Interactive functionality is also available to all customers, as is access to Sky’s popular electronic programme guide, Sky Guide.

Sky+

parkinsonBecause we know people are busier than ever, we’ve created Sky+ to make TV fit around customers’ lives. It’s a truly personal video recorder, allowing up to 40 hours of TV to be recorded and watched later.

Two programmes can be recorded simultaneously while another recorded earlier is watched. Live TV can be paused and rewound so not a second of a favourite show or sports broadcast is missed. Entire series can be recorded at the touch of a button with our ‘Series Link’ feature.

Sky+ is proving hugely popular with 5.9 million homes taking control of the TV schedules. Based on our most recent data for how much customers are using Sky+
each month, over the course of a year we’d see around 8 billion instances of timeshiting. 

Sky Anytime TV is an innovative service on more recent Sky+ boxes that automatically records our pick of the week’s TV for customers to watch when they’re ready. It offers a wide selection of content from Sky and third-party channels, from hit shows and film premieres through to documentaries and dramas.

Sky+HD

Launched in May 2006, Sky+HD is the fastest growing additional TV product in Sky’s history, with 1.6 million customers by the end of June 2009. And Sky is now making High Definition TV available to everyone by making Sky+HD, even more accessible with an everyday low box price of £49.

sky+hdSky+HD is the UK’s leading HD TV service with access to 35 HD channels from leading entertainment brands offering over 13,000 hours of content across all key genres, enabling people to get immersed in the action, emotion and detail of their favourite sports, documentary, movies, entertainment or drama programmes whatever their passion.

Sky+HD includes dedicated HD channels from some of the UK’s most popular channel brands, including Sky1, Sky Arts, Sky Sports, Sky Movies, Discovery Channel, History Channel and National Geographic Channel. All customers with a Sky+HD box can also enjoy the subscription-free HD channels from the BBC and Channel 4.

Sky Multiroom

mum and daughterSky Multiroom allows Sky TV customers to watch their favourite shows, at the same time, in different rooms of the house.
To enjoy Sky Multiroom, customers need a Multiroom subscription which is £9.75 extra a month for each additional box.

Sky Broadband

Launched in August 2006, Sky Broadband offers great value exclusively for Sky TV customers. It is the UK’s fastest growing broadband service, reaching over 2.3 million homes already.

Sky BroadbandSky TV customers within the Sky Broadband network area can receive download speeds of up to 2Mb for a monthly fee of £5. Alternatively, they can choose speeds of up to 10Mb for £10 a month or up to 20Mb for £15 a month. These products are available to around 70% of UK households.

Other customers can choose Sky Broadband Connect, offering download speeds of up to 8Mb for £17 a month.

All Sky Broadband products come with 12 months’ McAfee security and a free wireless router.

The quality and value offered by Sky Broadband has been recognised in the “Broadbandchoices.co.uk Customer Satisfaction Awards”, in which Sky was voted the best overall provider and came top in all six categories.

Sky Talk

phoneSky Talk is a great-value home phone service, exclusively available to Sky TV customers. Sky Talk has 1.982 million customers at the end of June 2009 and is currently the fastest growing home telephony provider in the UK.

Customers can choose from two packages. Sky Talk Freetime offers free UK evening and weekend calls* for no monthly fee, while Sky Talk Sky Talk Unlimited offers unlimited UK calls*
at any time for £5 a month. In addition, Sky Talk now offers
line rental plus the Sky Talk Freetime package for just £11
a month, offering customers the convenience of a single bill for all their home telephony charges.

Sky Talk won eight out of 11 categories in the 2009 uSwitch “Home Phone Customer Satisfaction Awards 2008”, including “Best Overall Customer Satisfaction” and “Best Deal
for You”.

Sky.com

dotcomThe Sky.com portal contains established online brands such as Sky Sports and Sky News as well as newer vertical sites such as Sky Travel, Sky Showbiz and Sky Motoring. It also offers users a range of tools such as email, storage and photos. Sky’s network of sites continues to extend its reach, attracting millions of unique users each month who contribute to over 1 billion monthly page impressions.

Sky Player

Sky PlayerSky Player allows Sky TV customers to access one of the broadest collections of programming to watch online, including movies, sports, entertainment, arts, lifestyle and documentary programmes – all available on-demand, on their PC.

As well as live streaming of channels such as Sky Sports 1 and Sky News, Sky Player offers thousands of pieces of on-demand content, which customers can either watch through immediate playback or download for viewing later.

Most Sky Player content is available at no extra charge to qualifying Sky TV customers, in line with their core Sky TV subscription.

Mobile services

Sky Mobile TVSky Mobile TV, launched in November 2005, offers a mix of around 30 ‘live’ linear and made for mobile TV channels. Available on Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile, the service – with hundreds of thousands of users – is the UK’s largest 3G mobile TV service.

Sky Anytime on Mobile offers a wide range of on-demand content across news, entertainment and sport. Through the application customers can also scan through the full Sky electronic programme guide. And with the addition of Sky’s remote record, a world first, Sky+ customers are able to programme their Sky+ boxes directly from their mobiles.

24-7 Football is an on-demand service which delivers highlights of Barclays Premier League and UEFA Champions League straight to mobile phones. Available across all major UK and Irish networks, customers can access the latest highlights as well as goal clips as and when they are scored.

Freesat from Sky

Freesat from Sky offers access to over 240 digital TV and radio channels and interactive services without a monthly subscription.

digi boxFor a one-off cost of £146.81, customers receive a Sky box, a minidish, a remote control, an initial viewing card and professional standard installation. There is no ongoing monthly subscription fee.

Alternatively, households that already have a fully operational Sky box and minidish can purchase a viewing card for £19.57 which will give viewers access to the free TV and radio channels which use Sky’s "conditional access" technology.
