Recently named set-top box of the year by What HiFi Magazine, Sky+ continues to go from strength to strength - and is now providing Sky customers with an even bigger choice of TV on demand.

In the spirit of striving to deliver the best TV experience we can, I’m pleased to say that from today Sky customers with a compatible Sky+HD set-top box and a broadband connection will be able to access hundreds of hours of BBC programmes on demand, as BBC iPlayer rolls out on Sky+.

…or from a range of categories, including genres such as comedy, drama, food or history. Other options available include flicking through a selection of most popular on demand BBC shows from the last seven days. Once a customer has made their choice, the programme is downloaded directly to their Sky+ planner, ready to watch at a time that suits them.

BBC iPlayer joins catch-up TV services from Sky, ITV and Five, all located within a dedicated Catch Up section within the On Demand section of Sky+. And with catch-up TV from Channel 4’s 4oD arriving on the service next year, Sky customers will very soon be able to enjoy the full line-up of free-to-air terrestrial catch-up TV services, delivered straight into their living room.

Catch Up TV forms just part of Sky’s comprehensive On Demand service, which also offers access a wide range of ‘box-sets’ within a ‘Library’ section, with titles currently available including hit series such as Mad Men, Stella and Boardwalk Empire. Sky Movies customers meanwhile have easy access to hundreds of movies on demand, all at no extra cost, with pay-per-view movies from Sky Store also available to buy and download through the service.

The addition of BBC iPlayer on Sky+ sits alongside a raft of recent developments to Sky+, including the launch of a new Sky+HD 2TB set-top box - offering six times the storage of a regular Sky+HD box. A recent update of the Sky+ app for iPad even allows Sky customers to transform their iPad into a remote control. To start enjoying Catch Up TV classic box-sets and Hollywood movies on demand on Sky+, all customers need to do is connect their Sky+HD box to their broadband router and activate their on demand account online or by phone.
