Actor Rhashan Stone wins Creative Diversity Network (CDN) award
This year's Creative Diversity Network (CDN) awards took place on Thursday at the Hackney Empire. The awards ceremony celebrated content that embraces onscreen diversity, outstanding breakthrough individual talent as well as off-air and behind the scenes activity across the broadcasting industry.
The actor Rhashan Stone won the 'Best Breakthrough Writer Award' for his first comedy-drama which was written for this year’s Sky Arts Playhouse Presents season. Rhashan wrote City Hall, a story about a working-class mum who lands the job of London Mayor after her defiant stand against rioters becomes an internet sensation.
“This is a wonderful moment for Rhashan Stone. Everyone at Sky Arts has been thrilled by his success,” comments James Hunt, director of Sky Arts. “This year’s Playhouse Presents series has been exceptional and Rhashan’s recognition really exemplifies the quality of comedy and drama Sky Arts is creating for its customers.”
If you missed Playhouse Presents City Hall there is another chance to see it on Thursday 27th December 9.30pm, Sky Arts 1 HD & Sky Go.
