Sky Betting & Gaming consists of four core brands: Sky Bet, Sky Vegas, Sky Poker and Sky Bingo and also encompasses the UK’s leading online odds comparison site, Oddschecker. The Sky Betting and Gaming marketing department consists of five teams, shaped around the customer journey. From acquiring new business, to providing loyalty incentives for existing customers and reactivating lapsed accounts, the marketing department shares our customers’ passion for betting and gaming.

Acquisition

Our acquisition team is charged with attracting new customers via channels such as TV advertising, affiliates, paid and organic search, display, editorial advertising and much more. The marketing of our free-to-play games, Soccer Saturday Super 6 and Fantasy Football is also managed within the acquisition team.

Loyalty and Retention

Our loyalty and retention team focuses on existing customers, developing relevant and timely offers and promotions designed to keep our players active and prevent customer churn. Regular promotions include Sky Bet’s Loyalty Scheme (whereby customers earn free bets or money off their Sky bill), Sky Poker’s Cash for Points and monthly cashback on Sky Vegas.

Win-back

The win-back team focuses on reactivating lapsed customers. Our customer database is segmented and carefully targeted to ensure customers receive relevant communications and promotions that pay back and generate a return on investment.

Priority

The priority customer marketing team looks after ‘VIP’ players. The team optimises the customer’s experience through individually tailored rewards and regular one-to-one communication.

Business Insight

The business insight team is a core part of the marketing department, providing customer data, forecasting and modelling for future promotions as well as analysis of past campaigns.

Customer Operations is made up of two teams; operational development and the contact centre and their overarching objective is to provide an unbeatable customer experience across all Sky Betting & Gaming products. Both teams aim to reduce queries coming into the contact centre by improving the customer journeys on our websites and mobile devices.

The contact centre offers assistance to customers from all products via phone, email, chat and social media. All advisors are multi-skilled and aim to provide the highest level of service possible.

Operational development track the customer experience and investigate customer issues and dropout on our sites. They also aim to improve conversion rates for account registration, depositing and verification.

The Technology team designs, builds and runs the websites, apps and IT systems that power the Sky Betting & Gaming products. We’re passionate about using new technology to deliver the best possible customer experience, from mobile sports betting to HTML5 gaming to automated trading systems. We work throughout the delivery cycle of Think, Build, Run.

Think

This is all about using new technology to deliver high quality, innovative products as quickly as possible. The team of architects and business analysts work closely with product owners to define the product roadmaps and the high level technical solutions. We review the latest technologies and look ahead to predict where we need to be and decide which technologies will get us there.

Build

The product delivery teams are responsible for designing, building and delivering new websites and internal IT systems. We use Agile delivery processes such as Scrum, behaviour driven development and continuous delivery to build new software solutions quickly and to a high quality. The Design/UX team makes sure the products are easy to use and look great, and the Infrastructure Delivery team designs and builds new platforms so that we have enough capacity at all times to meet the growing demand from customers.

Run

The run teams are tasked with delivering the best customer experience at all times, which means the sites and apps need to be fast and secure 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. They are responsible for managing the networks, servers, databases and applications in the data centres and managing the deployment of new products. The DevOps team is fanatical about automating processes to improve quality and reduce timescales, for example, automating the way we monitor systems, deploy software and manage environments.

The Sky Betting & Gaming Finance team is small but has a very wide remit.  Well integrated into the business, the team is able to be reactive to business requirements and support its needs in this very fast-moving Industry.

Day-to-day, Finance are responsible for reporting results to the business and regulatory and statutory bodies, ensuring that all of customer payments are processed properly, managing a large cost base to ensure maximum profitability and assisting the management team with capital spend decision.

Sky Betting & Gaming is regulated by the UK Gambling Commission and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) and the finance team is responsible for maintaining controls within the business that enable it to maintain its operating licences.
